Bernice W lived on the family farm in Thorndale with her Dad till he passed away in 1989.
She moved to her trailer in 1991. She has lived in her community for all her life and lives in the heart of Thorndale community for 14 years. They assist Bernice to keep in touch with old family and friends. Bernice loves to live in the country.

Memories of growing up

Some of Bernice's favorite memories are:
• Working on the farm with Mom & Dad
• Assisted with the animals
• Went to School till she was 16 yrs old
• Picked "leeks" in the woods with family & friends - still enjoy this today
• Loved to play games on the farm
• Learned to play piano at 6yrs old with no lessons, can also play organ

Accomplishments

Bernice has had to learn to live on her own without her parents. She has had to learn to keep house and to cook for herself. In 1997 she didn't have much awareness of money and how to count it. Today, Bernice is able to look in her wallet and tell staff the amount she has. She is now also able to count out money at coffee shops. Bernice still loves to play music on her organ. In spare time loves to scrapbook and cork and work on puzzles. Loves all old show still on TV.

Life now

Bernice is 61 years old & still lives in her trailer in Thorndale. She enjoys her time visiting friends and watching her favorite shows from the past. Bernice is still very active in her community and everyone knows her by name.

Future

Bernice works on keeping herself healthy and to live as long as possible in her trailer in Thorndale. Her love for the country will always be in her heart.
