My Life Story

by: Wanda L

I moved to Alice Saddy in August of 1980. At Alice Saddy I learned how to do budgeting, cleaning, grocery shopping, laundry, meal planning and cooking. At Alice Saddy I met a lot of nice people and also had the privilege of having the best staff in the world to work with me. It was because of Alice Saddy that I learned how to do things and on my own and have my own apartment. I have been on my own since September 1982.

Some of my accomplishments are being on my own for 22 years and doing really good on my own. Another accomplishment that I am proud of is working full time. I am a baby sitter for 3 children that I take care of. I have also received my high school diploma at Sir George Ross S.S. and a Fanshawe College Certificate in Basic Training for Skill and Development Level C.

The accomplishment that I would like to share with everybody is being on the Alice Saddy Board and being Vice-President as well.

I also am on a committee at Fanshawe College and volunteer at the Canadian Cancer Society. I also bowl during the Fall season.

I would like to dedicate this story that I wrote to my family who were instrumental in getting me to Alice Saddy.
